Margo Bach - New Alternative Coordinator
Margo Peterson Bach came to North Shore Baptist Church as a senior in high school. Many responsibilities have come her way through the years and she has tried to fulfill them to the best of her ability. She was the secretary of the Christian Education Committee for over 7 years, worked on many annual dinners, and was active in American Baptist Women, as a member and as President. She served as the chair of the church Staff Relations Committee and also worked every Saturday as church secretary during Dr. Bill Myer's time here. One of her favorite things to do in the past was sharing in the making of ceramics at Annie Joe Dawson's home, each week, in preparation for the huge bazaar that was put on annually, for Central Baptist Children's Home (NOW One Hope United). This was a wonderful "happening" that encompassed hundreds of women from many churches in the Chicagoland area, all coming together for a common cause - helping children in need. Margo worked as a volunteer for CBCH for over 25 years.
In 2001, Pastors Carol and Doug asked her to head up a new ministry for seniors at North Shore. WOW! What a challenge and what a marvelous opportunity! After taking the time to think and pray about it, she said she would lead the group. So, in September of that year, 2 DAYS AFTER 911, the first meeting was held. NEW ALTERNATIVES is going strong and growing as the years go by. It is the best job she has ever had!
Margo and her husband, Harold, will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary this year. They are most grateful to the good Lord for his watching over them and blessing them for all their happy years together.
North Shore is a vital part of most of what Margo does every day, and has been for most of her life - Margo knows that will never change! |
