rev. yuki scroggins

Born in Tokyo , Japan, Rev. Yuki Scroggins came to the United States as a high school student. After graduating from high school in Ohio , she went to Seattle , Washington and graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a B.A. in linguistics. While she was in college, she accepted Jesus as the Savior and the Lord. Spending 4 years in Seattle , she realized she was to go back to Japan to share the Good News with her family and friends.
She worked for Japan Campus Crusade for Christ for 2 years and while she was there, her two sisters became Christians. Series of events and confirmation from God led her back to the United States (California) again and she earned a Master of Divinity degree from Biola Unversity, where she met her husband, Marvin. They eventually married in Marvin’s hometown, Chicago. She and her husband served at African American churches for 10 years as ministers and were ordained by the National Baptist Convention. Pastor Yuki received her ordination with ABC/USA through our Metro Chicago region in August 2010.
Her favorite pastime includes having a cup of tea, movies, reading, listening to various types of music, going to art galleries and museums, and swimming. She believes that every culture has some connecting points leading to salvation and redemption by Jesus Christ and she hopes to share those connections through her sermons and the Bible studies. She also has a strong interest in environmental issues.
